Football federations and NGOs: conflicting agendas?

In many countries worldwide, Football for Good, development, and humanitarian NGOs deliver football-based programs.

❎ In some instances, tensions have arisen between football federations and NGOs because of competition for resources and territory. NGOs feel that football federations should be doing more to promote social outcomes relating to football and football federations feel that NGOs should be working withing and align with their sporting agenda.

⚽ What is the role of football federations? To develop football in a particular locality or country, right? What does developing football actually mean though?

🌎 What is the role of NGOs? To improve lives of people in a particular locality of country, right? What does improving lives actually mean though?

In a climate of finite resources + systemic inequalities.....

❔ Should football federations work within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals?

❔ Should NGOs work within the framework of national football federations?
